Next week will be the three major races of the UTMB® Mont-Blanc: the TDS®, the CCC® and the only UTWT 2000 race on the circuit: the UTMB®. his year, more than ever, we are thrilled to be back in Chamonix, France, for a whole week! The elite athletes spread the message to meet in Chamonix, which promises to be a memorable moment in the history of trail-running. Sanitary measures are in place to ensure a great and safe event.
We start with the TDS®, acronym for “Sur les Traces des Ducs de Savoie”. This beautiful and technical race crosses many beautiful regions, from the Aosta Valley in Italy to the Savoie in France. Runners will have the opportunity to discover the Beaufortain region. They will also enjoy breathtaking views of the Pierra Mentra and the Grand Mont and, of course, the Mont-Blanc. 1000 UTWT points are at stake!
The second race of the week is the CCC®, a UTWT 1500. Like the TDS®, the race starts in Courmayeur. The CCC® has gone from being the “little sister of the UTMB” to one of the most prestigious races in the world. This unique race requires good training and a real ability to run in potentially difficult weather conditions. The CCC® climbs up to 2500m of altitude, which allows runners to enjoy magnificent views of Mont Blanc and many other landscapes.
The last and most anticipated race of the week is the UTMB®. It is the one that all runners dream of running one day. The one you prepare for months. Running around Mont Blanc is above all an inner adventure, a unique experience where each participant will have to draw on his or her strengths and push back his or her mental and physical limits to cross the finish line. This extraordinary course in the heart of the massif will allow runners to cross valleys and passes in contact with the most beautiful peaks, in a unique alpine setting. Before plunging towards the finish line in Chamonix, the runners will have the chance to appreciate the majestic presence of Mont Blanc at Les Drus.
