Ultra-trail Cape Town is set-in world-renowned destination Cape Town in South Africa, on the pristine trails of the iconic Table Mountain – a world heritage site and one of the new Natural Seven Wonders of the World. The race takes 1000 runners on a tour of the breathtaking Cape Peninsula which is characterized by mountains squeezed between the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. The 100km route with 4300m elevation gain covers technical terrain, traversing mountain ranges, coastal stretches, forests, winelands and famous city landmarks.

The Ultra-trail Cape Town route is front loaded with two major climbs on the technical, rugged single track of Table Mountain and the remote trails of Karbonkelberg within the first 50km. The second half, while equal in elevation gain, consists of more sustained gradients. The two halves require two different approaches. With a combination of beautiful scenery, Ultra-trail Cape Town is now part of the Ultra-Trail World Tour. The race will finish the circuit in December and we are proud to welcome this emblematic race.
